Get your inseme lenght and multiply it with 11% This value will be the height of your seat, measured from the center of bb to the top of seat. It's quite accurate.

How accurate can it be if it takes no consideration of crank length into account?I do it old school way and works like a charm! Set saddle with my heels on the pedals with a straight leg. Fast and easy

That technique will actually cause too much movement in your pelvis because your hips are dropping on each side.

You can use the same technique but there should be a slight bend in the leg.

Follow up by checking on an IDT to see if the hips drop when pedaling. Should be stable.

All the formulas in the world are just a basic guide to get you started and are not meant to be a 100% final result.

Its quite simple to do it yourself, start of like 'FC&P2C' suggested with your normal cycling shoes on.

Each person is different and needs to make adjustments based on how they feel while pedaling at a reasonable effort / load. You want to feel smooth, efficient and powerful throughout the entire 360 degree pedal cycle.

Have a look here for some good practical seat height tips, follow the "How to seat your own seat height" steps.
