Jet A1 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I must say that on Friday evening I was very close to deciding not to go but in the end pushed through. Very happy that we did! Even though wake up was at 4 am and had to drive 150km to get there. Was great fun, really enjoyed it and great job by the organizers, was well run. The bike wash at the end was also appreciated. If possible and all goes well I wouldn;t mind riding it again. I'm also having issues with both the PPA and Racetec websites on both my laptop and phone. Was able to access the Racetec website to about 19:30 last night. Not able to anymore... BrandonF_ 1

I took it a little too easy toward the last 20 as the race announcer said the last 20 were tough. Turns out the last 12 or so were dead easy and I should have pushed a lot harder after it seemed that the hills were over.At least I will know for next year. Edited June 8, 2014 by CapeLandy

Hi Capelandy, it was 1280m I flatboxed that last 12km, trying to make up time on the little "tea party chat" I had with someone in the middle section hehe! I rode the last 18km with only a front brake.(It were very interesting/scary cycling with only a front brake.) Edited June 9, 2014 by Pooyan

Was n harde race gewees, maar lekker ook. My eerste mtb race in jare. Wie het die fotos daar geneem as ek mag vrae? Wannabe 1

New Landy new life Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I also rode almost only on the front breaks as I blead my breaks the night before and cocked something up and had a huge airlock in the rear system. That nasty short steep drop off in the first half was the only brown undies moment for me as I am fairly light so managed ok on about 40% rear breaking

It felt as if my butt was kissing my rear tyre, seriously, it was quite a nail biter and felt steeper than previous years
