Case of beer for a (baby) step by step instruction on how to do that. Will be Nirvana. I am a computer ignoramus - no big words or abreviations please!

1.Download trainerroad to PC from web....http://www.trainerroad.com/

2.See if your device is compatible...I know yours is, same as mine but just double check...http://www.trainerroad.com/equipment-checker

3.Open trainerroad on desktop....sign in and pair powerbeam with trainerroad application...

4.Open sufferfest video and sync with trainerroad corresponding workout...ie open fightclub video and sync fightclub workout

5.Suffer

hahahaha no need. Us hubbers help each other mos.

FYI...trianerroad isn't free, but apparently well worth it...as soon as they come out with a IOS app I will probably get it...its all desktop now.

Correct, the only way I know of to get this going is to go via trainerroad, then the trainerroad app will set resistance to the unit based on the sufferfest video lvl of exertion.

I've got an Sufferfest Erg file, with all the rides, so if you input the erg file into your trainer data, it will change the resistance according to the sufferfest vid. Post your email and I will forward it onto you.

Only been using it for a short while(Ipad version)...but shoot away with questions.

Here is why I dig it....

Create ergo workouts at specific Watts on ipad is a breeze...very intuitive interface and data

Seamless integration into the cloud(whatever your flavour...virtual training suite, strava, trainingpeaks, mapmyride etc etc)

No booting up or cables...everything just talks to each other.

VR is polished in google earth with no extra license this or license that....

And here is the magic sauce which other training suites don't have.....

Because all VR trainers use slope and GPS positioning to manipulate the ergo trainer's resistance, bad GPS data can really screw up your VR ride...like going from a 0% slope to 34% in an instant...The Virtual training suite smooths any bad data out when you create a VR route somewhere in the world....so that you still climb the same amount but doesnt give the "riding giant steps" issue...DCRainmaker did a whole writeup on this...awesome stuff

gosh my pc only got fixed now.anyway my question for the it boffins here

i am an android user with a Galaxy 10in just laying around and could put it to some use.

now i have the ant usb stick which came with the P.Beam. i also have the Samsung connector adapter which makes the usb work on the tablet. ( my son watches movies from the tablet using the connector/adapter, usb stick , hdmi cable to the tv. works like a bomb )

i would like to use the tablet with the virtual software , have the software control resistance and view via hdmi on the big screen. ....ja ja ja ja i want a lot ... can this be done?

Yes. You need to download the Cycleops Virtual Trainer app and it works perfectly. They do charge a fee though.

Do you have to use the powerbeam pro for VT or can you use any of the other cycleops trainers?

you can use any trainer and a speed/cadence sensor.

have a look at the virtual training web page

Picked up my powerbeam this morning. Played around a bit and tomorrow morning I will have my 1st custom 1hr interval session.

What do you guys prefer at this stage, custom sessions or routes? If routes pls share some favorites?

Just 1 question: I am currently on the 2 week trial session. Is there a limited nr of routes I can upload in this period? Do you have to be subscribed to access your custom workout sessions or do routes you download yourself?

Thanks

Hi Jaco, no the limitation is that functionality will expire after 2 weeks afterwhich you must subscribe or not. I enjoy custom workouts at this point, l just love seeing live data for plotted real time....there is also media toggle where you can watch videos or listen to music but for now, I like seeing my data. I did a 3min mmp test last night...what a breeze to create...not so much to do hahahhaa but that is my leg's fault

ito virtual routes...there is a good couple in south africa, depending on your bandwith you can download / stream the video too.

Congratz on your new trainer...it is a serious piece of kit. I am loving mine.

Oh if you need some power tes
