5Seats Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 G'day all, Yesterda,y a good friend of mine was attacked whilst cycling from Stellenbosch towards Bottelaryrd. The incident happened at the Khyamandi robot. Somebody put an object into his back wheel, causing him to fall over his handle bars. With a broken collarbone and still attached to his bike the robber approached him ripping his cellphone from him.He is going for an operation this morning. We wish him a speedy recovery!! Myself was attacked at the similar spot about 18mts ago. When will this ever stop???? Difficult situation, polkadraai not really an alternative with them still busy with roadworks and not always possible to have a cycle buddy or group for the khayamandi section. Stay safe.

Storm 78 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I don't think it will be any safer riding with a fire arm. If it is that easy to get robbed of your cellphone the same will apply for your gun. That area is a dangerous zone. Not only for cyclist but for motorist to.
