I stopped riding on the road after one too many of those horror accidents. So when I saw this product last week, my happiness levels soared. Wrt Volvo good idea, but I refuse to put my life in a driver' hands.

With this new product, it is your call when to get out of harm's way, while simultaneously warning driver of your presence.

Maybe a link which describes the working of this device fully?

I appeal your decision. My answer " A Star Trek type beam", was close enough.

I will deliver my complaint at a coffee shop in Stellies sometime in the future.

jy koop die koffie, enige dag volgende week? (then we sommer go look at the 3d-printed demo)

The biggest, fattest oil embargo ... but that's not really an invention. I remember, back in 1976, when the Suez conflict suddenly meant smaller cars, petrol stations closing early, introduction of the speed limit (it had nothing to do with safety then, it was about saving petrol).

Bingo.

A rear facing radar type device that warns the cyclist of a car coming up behind him

Furbs, bingo! You anywhere near Stellenbosch?

Honest question: How will this help? What's the cyclist to do in case of a warning that a car is coming from behind? Chances are most cyclist will mentally switch off to the warning as most of the alarms / warnings will purely be for cars "just coming from behind".

I like the idea of an in-car warning system. Like Volvo or Merc have.
