Just be careful with the design of the clamp, the frame seems to be designed to take a post mount clamp, it may not handle a normal seat post inserted with a normal clamp.. could break off and then your frame is toast..

I'm saving this pic for next time there's a thread about 'fancy' car manufacturers dabbling in bicycles.

Again... no matter if you're Lada or Lamborghini... it's pretty much always an abomination.

(Ben, I'm sure in TT guise your bike will look acceptable. But that Ferarri wi that steerer tube and bars... Sorry I need to go rinse my mouth out)

No offence but are you just naturally a tjop? *smh*

Must be. Sorry, that frame just looks odd. Is it TT specific?

It also looks very similar to the shape the Blackspade road frame topper uses, you could maybe go around to them and ask if you could fit one, but you would only have limited height adjustment.

Otherwise, take a normal seatpost, cut it at an angle, use a long bolt and a washer and nut at the bottom, making basically a wedge type fixing arrangement, like the old quill stems used.

What about clamping the seatpost itself at the desired height. The clamp will then rest on top of the seatube. Then as you say gave the thing carbon wrapped.

Kinda what we did to my seatpost at the avianto 12 after Karma broke my clamp by forgetting the"lefty loosy righty tighty rule"

No worries, it is TT specific and will be used very occasionally. I have an Alu TT bike for donor parts and this frame cost me a few hundred ZA rondts plus some C/Fiber work so as usual more doing it 'just because I can' ;)

Random question, are you married, engaged or currently single ?

No, but cut that rounded piece out and you might be pretty close.

Correct the Specialized one has a wedge against the actual seatpost, as opposed to the 'seat tube', and the shape is very different. The Specialized one is very 'sharp' at the back ....

I have an Allez and did take it out to look :)

Just came back from my mate at Macarbi (Steve) and he will go for the BogusOne option to modify it to take a standard clamp (cut a piece of the aero away, cut a slot and drill the wee hole at the bottom) BUT will also strengthen the upper area a bit and also fill that aero section behind the post with some fancy stuff that will also strengthen it .....

Thanks to everyone for the ideas and comments!

I may still get it back today if his wife doesn't go into labour :w00t:

That would work, if the option I am taking now doesn't work he says next would be to just bond a seatpost in at the correct height but that's a bit extreme ....
