Bearing, BB tools

Hi, thinking of replacing the press fit BB and maybe some of the pivot bearings (Giant). What kind of tools (press/puller) do I need.

Not sure how much you want to spend but Giant has a nice puller/press set for around R1300 I think it was.

to install bearing just take a piece of threaded rod with nuts on each end, use the bushings provided and bob is your uncle.

I know my Trance has a couple notches behind the bearings, if you careful insert a screwdriver and SLOWLY tape the bearings out.

 

I used a couple nuts and washers to press new ones back in.

 

Be patient and ensure they go in straight.

I found using varying sizes of sockets worked well with a long bolt and washers to get the pivot bearings in and out...
