If I remember correctly, a while back there was a uproar about charging cyclist a lot more to ride there but I can't find anything on the site, only per car/per person rates.

Anyone know?

Yah. Tx guys. Heading there today for the first time :)

Let me know how it is please...one of my friends came back crying & I've been too scared to try it since then!

Wait a second....it's a work day?...slacker!

He may have come back crying, but he certainly came back stronger.

There is no better training spot anywhere in Jhb.

Couldn't stomach a 5 day week, so took the week and a few other days off ;)

But it says suitable for beginners... No matter, I shall try.

I guess it depends on the beginner...

A full loop is 57k's with 1200 metres of climbing. The back hill alone feels like 10000 metres if you aren't in good condition.

Imo that's not beginner territory. Unless he/she likes walking

Rode their this past sunday, cost us 30 each.in total was a 100randelas for 3 guys,3 bikes and the vehicle...long as you have a reasonable base fitness and enjoy climbing youl be fine.(Don't walk) that gets you no where!! HTFU :)

Hi Guys - I have ridden there once years ago on a road bike, I heard somewhere that the road is in bad shape and dangerous - is it ok to still ride the road bike or would I be better served with the mtb?

that 1st ride broke me....I have not been back since but I guess I must man up.
