Hey Guys,

I need to draw the maps for van gaalen and then go out with Erik to ride the new parts... he's not very tech savy so I need to draw the routes for him.

I'll draw preliminary ones as I understand them to be and post them in due time.

Seriously looking for anyone with experience of these trails to let me know what they compare with in the Cape and how tough the 75km might be. I have entered but not sure what the profile is, the website is a mess!

This will be VERY tough. Not manicured, hot, rocky and the climbs tricky. Not an easy route and perhaps start with the 45km one. :)

Agnee, I was hoping for a breather after the Monster. Now it seems I'm in for it again. Luckily I learnt a ton from the Monster and I will come better prepared. Would have done much more training by that time. I am also getting the bike properly fixed tomorrow.

It seems like I need to find myself some loose rocks and ride them up and down all day long.

too late! First race with my new JHB boyfriend (first MTB ride together, too!) coming up to JHB for work and bringing my bike, its the 75km event or....or there is no chickening out option. Cant do too much cycling before this but will do a lot of gym work, spinning and running. And maybe pray.

Is anybody else struggling to enter? Once I have selected the category option and clicked 'next' I am taken back to the details page...

I'm in. Looking forward.

I rode 6 hours on the Nissan Marathon last year. Snapped my gear cable early in the race and rode single speed for most of it. Needless to say, I'm still not keen on joining the ss revolution.

Looking forward!

So we are meeting Erik on Thursday to ride the new sections fo VG National route.

Will have it then in the eve and creating the booklet, will post asap.

Make notes of exactly where in the course you cursed the most. When you hit the sections where you feel this is inhumane just think of us and cut the corner... lol

Picture of Erik taken yesterday at Van Gaalen, hope he wasn't scouting for MTN race.

Who knows which section this is? Rouxtjie you're not allowed to answer.

Vultures....coming down I think.

Bring your big boy pant for that downhill....

You know it....I hope its not in the race. Will be like the satellite descent in 2012. Ambo waiting at the bottom.
