Rode up to Wolverhampton for a gig tonight to see amongst others Paul dianno and KK Downing.

thought I would pay jezza a visit. Queue was about 2 hours long. The parking lot was full and the road was chockablock too. Crazy English happy to queue to pay over the odds for spuds, crisps and cow juice.

And then I went to a bike shop. DMC in Dudley. Huge stock holding. Amazing really. Came to look at this beauty. 5750.
I am 6.3 but fit really well on these ducs. Decisions decisions. This one has very old tyres on it and rudimentary check j see it was off the road for 12 years. Looks in ok shape though.

If you are on a bike, then parking and traffic are not an issue for you :)

So……I did pull the plug and let the funds flow from account……..I did end up with the BMW R1100S Boxer Cup Replika in the Mamola colours. Sure the Certificate of authenticity from BMW Heritage in Munich has added to the cost but hopefully adds to the overall collectibility. Anyhow, despite all that………the machine is a delight to ride. All of 97 HP, less than my big KTM 1190 in off road mode, but what a lovely bike, decently fast without soiling ones Y fronts! I am adjusting to the quirky rocking of a Boxer engine and I love it. This is a 2003 and bought to keep the km”s low…….this will be tricky!IMG_0493.jpeg.b19cccd98e7f81872d831438080eda52.jpeg

Queue to get into shop. You stand for 2 hours. That’s how long the queue was. Yeah. I just rode up no problem

Not the best pic, but the most scenic parts of Boyes Drive this morning I could not get myself to pull over for a pic. .... traffic was basically non existent, the weather cool, no wind and the most phenomenal fog over the water to the mountains in the back ground.

This pic was taken a little later after my meeting in Kalkbayimage.jpeg.664a7d1ee277748bcfe708164083a3ff.jpeg

Amazing how dirty a bike can get from riding in the rain, on back roads, through flooded roads, etc .... bet you this Harley has been dirtier than many a shinny BMW GS with 2000km on the clock following 5 years of ownership :P

Two weeks ago I picked up a XS helmet for my youngest so that he can join me on the bike.

We went out for a ride later that day, and life was good.

Then this last week my youngest me have been butting heads .... so today the weather in CT was awesome, cold but awesome.

Got him on the back of the bike, and slipped out from work for a quick ride to the beach and an impromptu milkshake at the Blue Peter.

The smiles say it all, and we are friends again :)
