100% tankwa. best race I've done here for sure. i went to kruger one afternoon. it was a really nice race except we missed a stage coz of the funeral which was a shame.

ride the rock is also really good as a solo stage race but same short stages and 50km of gravel between you and the road.. its very technical too which is worth bearing in mind.

tankwa is number 1 though for sure.

for 1 day races then eslefontein in ceres which was in nov i think. best single day race I've done, the atmosphere after was brilliant and the route was great.

edited - just read your post properly so took out my sabie bit

Het 2011 di Pioneer gedoen, laaste keer wat hulle dit so "tuff" gemaak het. Mar elke jaar daarna het die ouens maar slegte weer gehad! Dink solo draai ook al so by R14000.00. Ek dink aan Joburg2C volgende jaar maybe. Wat is sy koste solo?

I was lookoing at two two-day stage races,To Hell and Back in november and Lighthouse to Lighthouse next year february.sure they are mostly dirt roads, but they should work out under R2500 each.

To hell and back always a winner. Skipped it for the past couple of years but after 12 times always worth it.

despite the fact that everyone will call this a dirt roadie ride due to the "lack of technical" sections, this is the toughest race I have ever done.

awesome ride awesome vibe!!

did the last 2 years, 2012 heat heat heat. 2013 rain rain rain. don't know which is worse

I agree that people dissing it as a dirtroadie race are really missing out. Riding in the Swartberg mountains is an awesome & inspiring experience. I wouldn't quite say it's the toughest race I've ever done, but definitely the toughest 60km route I've done..
