Are the light ones maybe OEM tyres, i.e. came with a new bike. I have heard (no facts) that lighter/thinner/inferior tyres are put on new bikes to make them lighter when weighed at the LBS by prospective clients....

645 for an Ikon...so very similar....Ikons dont sweat after a couple of months though

Both my Ikons show 580g on my scale. They are not TR but are EXO, they work tubeless... claimed weight is 590g.

and here is a question: Looking at Rocket Ron and Racing Ralphs as a combo. Any suggestions/advice (for a 29er)?

Previously had Wolverines on my 26er and they were fantastic.

Ralph rear and Ron front seems to be the most common combination. I recently changed from Ralph/Ralph but with my skilzzz don't feel any difference. Saw Platt in Clarens with Ron/Ron combo.
