I was reading on the Munga thread that only mountain bikes would be allowed.

What is a mountain bike?A few years back it was pretty simple but how is a mountain bike defined now?

Posted (edited)

A bike that rides off road without the difficulties of riding with a roadbike.

  •
    MTB

  • A mountain bike or mountain bicycle (abbreviated MTB or ATB, for all-terrain bicycle) is a bicycle created for off-road cycling. Mountain bikes are typically ridden on mountain trails, fire roads, logging roads, and other unpaved environments

The Niner RLT fits that description but its a CX bike.....maybe with Flatbars it'll look more like a mtb.

nothing the UCI rules specifically but they do define track, TT, road and CX bikes. so anything that is not one of the aforementioned is a MTB?

I also did a search and came up with zip.

i think the main difference between CX Road and MTB are the angle of the seat tube and headtube
