Might do salute to jensie tonight...1 hour flat TT.

Can you access ride files on my profile? There is a nice flatish n fast 38 TT dated 22.06.2014 from the Zug triathlon there, see if you can do it in an hour

let me check

Was thinking maybe just sitting in freeride...popping the resistance to 245 watts, sit and kuk for an hour

Any virtual route recommendations that fall in these parameters for tonight and Sunday?

1. Easy 60 - 90 minutes with not to much climbing

2. Hilly 60 - 120 minutes but not very steep hills

jokes aside on the trainer i feel climbs are easier for me than the flats, makes no sense but lately when the races are up and  down steep climbs short decends,, , they seem easier for me,long  flats i bleed

Same here dips...I think I burn too many matches too quick on flats and downs.

As in real life, 1-2% gradients are my favourite terrain.

So, I've got a JetFluid Pro with Ant+ on my laptop. I train 4 or 5 days a week with Sufferfest videos mainly. I love IDT training - honestly...

SARS are about to send me a refund (obviously, someone else paid for the balance of Nkandla  ). Is it worth the upgrade to the Power Beam?

Meneer like dips said the detail is in earlier posts, but in 1 word...yes. Having an ergo trainer...basically the biggest difference between the two makes it much easier to do workouts and online races.

A few examples...

When a hill kicks in, the ergo trainer will automatically kick in resitance forcing you to kick out more watts to maintain the speed. The non ergo won't, you would have to pedal harder and shift gears to stay at the same speed.

With trainerroad latest release I believe it will automatically adjust you power levels specified in you workout program...you dont have to worry about anything except cadence and watts.

Made the move from Jetfluid pro to Power Beam a few weeks ago. Like you, I spend most of my time on the trainer during the week doing 1hr CTS videos. Great way to train, but limited to "cadence and time training". To simulate climbs with MTB gearing on the fluid is also limited - no resistance except higher gearing.

I find that trying to maintain a power level instead of cadence much harder, to the extent that I have to double up on the towels I use during the workout! There is a bit more ritual setup to go through before you ride, but worth it.

The additional stimulus I get from the workout material, even if it is watching my marker crawl to the end seems to help. I hope it will make be a stronger rider when comes to hills on my MTB.

So for me, the $$ was worth it. Make sure you do your homework regarding the final cash layout. If you need to purchase the trainer and IPAD for example, it will add up.

Make the decision and go for it!

I could only eek out 220 Watts. Need the juices of a race. We must try to get Tuesday and Thursday races going.
