Regarding the weight issue. The app should show the riders weights for everyone to see. I am assuming everyone racing has a friend who knows his weight so if he lies it will be picked up eventually......... For example I know Frosty and if he lies about his weight I will kill him dead :nuke: . Rouxtjie knows Dave etc......

Never met Dave in person...I know DIPSLICK.

Look if someone want to cheat they must maar cheat. I care rocks. The VR racing is nice...the tjerrie on the top so to speak...I use it mostly to crunch out watts and do tests...Another lekker thing is because its an ergo trainer, you can create workout to mimic a sufferfest video...Did a "very dark place" and its awesome cause you don't have to worry about resistance, the unit adjusts itself...you can just sit and suffer

FTP? Would that be your average watts over a period of time? By the way I am 59, and weigh 79 kgs. A good 9 kgs of fat.

FTP...functional threshold power. Basically avg power you can sustain over an hour. This is a good indication and also the basis to calculate a stress score for a workout. If you hit you FTP number for an hour you will get exactly 100 points for your workout. Its also the base number to calculate your coggan power zones from for training. Also you want to measure this number periodically(every 8 weeks or so or after a training block) to gauge your improvement.

FTP is known as the ave power one can ride at for a 1h effort at max.

but usually tested over a 20min period and taking 95% of of the ave value

OK we now know we need age, weight and drinking categories. Me 47y, 90kg and LOTS of beer. Down from 108kg when fat and 100kg when in good gym shape (until recently I could bench 2 of the smaller guys together). Remember to wave as you go by...
