Ive also found that training on the IDT is harder and translates to faster rides when i get out on the road.

Ive found that on the IDT there is no break in pedalling so its a constant effort for the duration you ride where on the road you get to freewheel a bit or ease up on the effort when you going downhill without sacraficing on speed so much.

Ive also found that the IDT has taught me that i can maintain a high effort for that much longer out on the road. Example, The other day on a stretch of road i was riding along at a high pace for a good 5 minutes before i looked down and realised that my heartrate was sitting at 88%... where previously i would control my heart rate to keep it at about 80% along that same road.

All in all the IDT training is really increasing my performances on the road... so far money very well spent and to think my fiancee told me to buy it when i said we can use the money towards the wedding

FOR ME THATS A BIG ONE, WHEN WE RACE ON THE IDT IT FEELS LIKE I AM GOING TO DIE, BUT AFTERWARDS I AM STILL GOOD TO GO, i think on the road instead of "blowing" in front of everyone i was playing it safe, there is no shame on going till you blow, just put a cushion on the floor for your head when you pass out,, I HAVE SEEN 100% I HAVE NOT PUSHED AS HARD BEFORE ON THE ROAD

and besides on the IDT we have many more excuses

rouxtjies favourite,,,,,,,no data

mine adsl crashed

power failures

SEE WIN WIN

Indeed... Also consider you don't get any drafting advantage on the IDT. And as mentioned this means you have to pedal the whole time. This online racing will make us as strong as an ox.

Last night myself and Frostie did a quick 24km race. We really pushed each other. I was struggling to keep up by my HR was 10 beats lower most of the time. I waited for the last big hill 4km from the end to make my move. I was however not the only one with this plan. We both attacked up the hill and over downhill on the other side. It was about here where I lost sight in my right eye and my left testical started cramping. In the end we finished 6 seconds apart. Afterwards I lied down on the tile floor and cried for 15 minutes. When I regained sight I crawled to my bed and cried myself to sleep.

. Sorry the race was on very short notice. It was setup in 5 minutes. We both have babies so we are opportunistic racers! We are rising again Sat morning at 5am

Thats one of the main advantages of IDT, you can ride as hard or as easy as you like without any outside influence or pressure.

Maybe the online riding in groups function will change this due to peer pressure?

I just ordered my powerbeam, delivery in +/- 14 days. The wife is going to want serious compensation after all the $ i spent on cycling this year, i really hope this is the last IDT i need to buy...still need to buy a tablet for the online stuff, more $$...
