Yeah, but is this latest trend empowering "WoC" or is it just cheap marketing/publicity stunt to score attention/stay relevant to, as you say, a product/market/industry gone stale?

Since we are on the subject I just saw for the Disney live action remake of Little Mermaid they casted a black actress for the role of Muriel (Halle Bailey)....

Sh*t! That is a miscasting of note! I watched her training vids for JW3, no one who shoots like that should be allowed anywhere near a mermaid outfit. Just saying!

Wrong Halle... But I don't blame you, was also thinking of the other one when I saw the headline  ^_^

As for the whole 007 thing... I don't really care.. But People are now trying too hard to cast black females at the moment. That all said... James bond is pretty much the franchise.. What he drinks.. What he drives and who he has sex with is the plot... They are essentially creating a spin-off.. And the spin-off should be seen as such. It's like casting a cheetah as the roadrunner...Worthy of the title, but not the same thing

As you were.

Let's hope it captures the latent homo-eroticism of the first

I think I watched it when it first came out. Can't tell you the plot. I know one of them is called Maverick and they did some upside down flyyee thing.... But that's mainly from the interwebs. I'm not gonna be rushing out to watch that.. And especially not if it includes tom cruise again

If the reviews are good I'll make the effort to catch the IMAX version. Tom Cruise may be a wacky scientologist but imo 9 out of 10 of his movies are good or at least watchable.

And I have always had a soft spot for Jennifer Connoly..

So we went to watch The Lion King.. damn was done really well, looks amazing.

BUT

The original is still better [emoji6]

Seth Rogan was a good Pumbaa but I missed Jeremy Irons as Scar, they didn't do Scar justice this time round..no charisma. And the hyenas were also a let down..
