Having just waffled on about absolutely f*ckall, i actually intended to add that a set of Conti BMX tubes(with removable valves), some cheap sealant and any reasonable quality tyre will give you the cheapest ghetto tubeless setup.

A little off topic, but just had to share the weekend's collection at Sondela. One from the Saturday event, one from the Sunday event......both TOT's had an affection for the front wheel......maybe because it is a RR.

Finished both events....not a problem......only removed Sunday's faith tester an hour ago.....with tyre still maintaining pressure until removal of said thorn.......love my tyre set-up.

This snot string and tool you guys speak of - is that like a bike version of the car tool some of the garages have? Essentially a big needle with eye where a strip of super tacky rubber is fed through, inserted in the hole, pulled through and then chopped?

Yup, This is what you are looking for. It works fine without the glue but if you apply a little of the glue to the string before inserting it then it is sure to stay put.

The plug is made of a type of rubberised string and is a little bit tacky. When it gets a bit of sealant on it then it usually stops the leak the instant you push it through the cut in your tyre. For bad holes where one doesn't quite do the trick I have used 2 at the same time and that seems to sort it out.

I have ridden for over 2000km with one of these "worms" in my tyre and it has never given me any trouble.

Those plugs work. Even on sidewall cuts. Had such a sidewall cut just above the rim and it sealed. Still sealed.

Get them.
