what do you mean by that

the bike rack can be fitted anywhere so why not use the Opportunity

I mean you can't see clearly in front of you.

Voluntarily putting a blindspot in your forward vision is really stupid. No really it is, and let's be specific here - so what if it's on the passenger side. Your view of:

a)cars approaching from a left intersection

b)cyclists on the shoulder

is severely compromised.

I wouldn't use this as a bonus/selling point of the product, but go wild.

Rofl, i have 5 seats, a roof rack and plenty space for bikes...

yeh - in hindsight, a clk 63 amg wasn't the best choice for carting bikes around

it’s hard to see the quality of the product by just looking that the pictures but the bike rack will amaze you in the quality of the components that been used

2K sounds a lot but what will you have to pay for a tow bar if your car does not have on one

we looked at every possible way to make the bike rack as cheap as possible

Comparing the bomber against a three bike roof mount system....

Roof rack(genuine) R3000

Roof rack bike mount rail(thule or similar) R1500 each(very generous low price)

R7500

Bomber - R7700

And the bomber can be fitted to many cars at a few mins notice

Really not that ridiculously priced when you run the numbers

Assume that this only applies to windscreen and not the rear window?

I honestly couldnt say - would be an interesting one...

Being a bit of a troll here - but 2k for the hornet is way chapter that getting a towbar/roofrack, and easier to fit/remove

I cant take your CHAPTER seriously ^_^

They not as proven here in SA for our roads and conditions... a normal platform towbar is far more proven..

Besides on your roof like normal roofracks i would pressume most of the other mounting options would be illegal.... and a tad dangerous,, so not that inventive.

Ive always wanted them just think more then 1K for a set of suckers is pricey !

I still think its overpriced. I use a used Saris Bones 2 that I bought off here for 1k. Works well, is solid, and takes 2 bikes. The Hornet takes one bike and is 2.3k....... more than the Saris Bones new.

but with a towbar you have the semi-security of being able to lock your bike onto the rack, there is nothing stopping you from releasing the suction and walking away with the bike..

i think you can put a padlock through the lever/skewer..

But i still wonder how the rubber sucker would stand up to affirmative shopping and these etc..

Phoned the SABS in connection with bike rack and they have told me that a bike rack does not need to be registered with them as long as you have al the importing license to stock the product on your selves that is all you require

Apparently you can buy a cord which is in your boot and this acts as a locking device to the rack and bikes but I stand to be corrected.

I dont get it. You trust your baby of anywhere between 15-100k to stay on your car on SA roads travelling between 80-130km/h, and the only thing holding the bike in place is three suckers? And you complain about the price? Hmmm....
