Also entered and riding (Not racing, don't have the mileage in my legs for that. ) I'll be the chap progressively sliding backwards and hopping onto as many groups as I can to ease the route round where I can...

Look for me.  I'll be sliding back right next to you!

Do we start in our PPA seeded groups or are there a seeding run specific to this race?

You use your PPA road seeding number for this event, there is no separate seeding for the event. If you are around rondebosch I would pick up the number at the offices, on the day the lines are ridiculous.

Just keep pedaling. When you don't feel like it anymore you think of Jens and just keep pedaling... You can do it!!!!! See you and Col there!

Also my first. Was about to ask about the range in 'commitment' to the race as I suddenly got sick and lost three weeks of training and was considering skipping it. Was comfortable with 4.5 hours riding before getting sick, don't know what it will be like next week... Hopefully I can get one 4.5 hour ride in before the race.

Glad to see I'll find some of you taking it easy as I will.

It will be a training ride for me rather than a race for sure! Have only done one ride over 80 clicks since the Argus and not ridden nearly as much as I normally do... (Yes, it's been a great winter for hunting down waves....)

My motivation to get me to the end is the R116 per km sponsorship I have raised for charity!  Between this and Amashove the week before, I'm hoping to raise over R31 000!

Also doing it with my DC team. Goning to be hard I know. My wide is having spitbraai the night before.

I think your wife may get a bit upset with you calling her wide!  Best you ride to Riebeek's Kasteel and stay there!

Are they still planning to send us our starting times?

The organizers don't normally send out starting times for groups for this event.

The race starts from 06:30 and will be sent off in batches of around 4 groups. eg A,B,C,D together, with probably around 5 minute intervals between batches. That is what happened last year.

Well if it was like this weekend they will send out the groups on their own and only put 1 min between.

Interesting strategy.... Some motivation to start fast and catch the group in front of you to improve your seeding!

Going to be interesting with a big climb early-on and DC teams fallling back to work together, groups could be quite mixed-up by the time we get to Boschendal!
