Hi Guys

I have two parcels en route from CRC, one via DHL and the other via their normal shipping. My query is :will the goods be delivered to my home or the post office?

Posted

what delivery addresss did u specify: home or PO box?

if the former, DHL will deliver to your door, after you've paid any customs and/VAT etc. They normally contact you via email or call you with the payment requirements.

Normal shipping will land at the Post Office, and require you to pay the necessary before they release it.

The DHL parcel will only be delivered once you have paid the import duties via EFT, only then will they deliver. The normal shipping will go to post office with a collection slip to follow...I only once got billed by SAPO for CRC imports

Okay thanks. I supplied my home address, but would prefer that goods are delivered to post office. I wonder if it would be possible for me to contact them and arrange this?

Correct. Funny thing is that my latest order I specified normal postage and they DHL-ed it. Top notch service from DHL and CRC.

Nice one. The "normal" order despatch was actually delayed by a few days due to some error on their side - I was hoping they would DHL it instead - but no luck!

With regards to the DHL order, I spoke to DHL, it needs to be done from CRC's side for some reason. I've mailed them, will see what they say.

Odd, I once got a parcel from DHL. They sent me an invoice to pay VAT before delivery, but my address was incorrect (I think they had the street address incorrect). I can't recall going back to the sender to change my address? Maybe policy has changed...

I am actually blown away by CRC at the moment...

I needed a specific item, which Buycyle.co.za listed as being in stock (suprisingly, as it's quite a rare item in SA). Having been burnt by Buycylce a few times previously for ordering items listed as being "in stock", which then in fact weren't and took 3+ weeks for them to source and deliver, I sent Buycycle a message to confirm that its was in stock... Of course it wasn't, but they at least offered to contact the local agent and get back to me.... still waiting a number of days later.

Yesterday I happened to be brousing CRC and found the exact item I need on sale (35% off - bonus!). Found a few other items I need on sale (all 30-45% off) so decided to just place an order, and spring the R200ish for DHL shipping.

Placed order yesterday at 10h24.

Received an email from CRC at 16h02 saying order has been dispatched.

SMS at 00h24 this morning from DHL saying package it has arrived in the country.

DHL phones me 08h30 this morning and emails with clearance payment details.

Paid, and should recieve my order later today or tomorrow.

Wish SA online retailers could provide this kind of service...
