Stop playing the victim and own up to the fact you put an illegal & banned product in your body in order to benefit your racing and results and have now been caught for it. The only example that has been made is that if you do something illegally and get caught you get banned.

Have you read the same thread we did?

Ironic how the doper is now the hero

How can you call someone a doper when he declared that he is taking the stuff for MEDICAL REASONS?

Tested positive for banned substance without TUE. Magic trifecta.

Easy hey...

Come one, this is not the NORMAL case where person denies taking it.....he clearly tried to follow the correct process but the governing body is clearly a joke!

The governing body's(SAIDS) job is to test athletes, they did so and found him glowing. What he or SAIDS should have done could have done doesnt really matter.

He is sanctioned.

He will never do the epic again(for a marathon specialist this is a big blow)

I have sympathy for the fact that he has a young family and that they have a tough road ahead, I have zero sympathy for the fact that he is sanctioned though.

As Brandon admits himself, he did take a banned substance and should be banned for doing so. I totally agree with that. The rules are there for a reason!!!

Where the crap comes in is how SAIDS handled the case and the length of the ban. According to Brandon he was open and honest from the day he started taking the treatment. He has never denied taking it, and this was disclosed in all his drug tests. How can you ban someone who tried to hide the fact he is taking drugs for 24 months and someone who was open and honest that is receiving treatment for 30 months. In what world does that make sense.

So yes he should be banned for taking a banned substance without a TUE in place, but I think the length of the ban is extremely harsh given the facts(the ones we know about at least...)

Oh well, this has been real, BS has some big stones coming here and answering some of the bull****, he got caught and punished, taking his punishment like a man, in my books that goes a very long way to restoring his credibility.

The effect that this ban will have on his life is quite profound I reckon, say what you want, I really feel sorry for the man.

Brother in law Greg has been very quiet, for being a very outspoken anti-doper....

the dude has had a car accident...a bike accident...and a team mate winning the world cup...last thing on his mind is saying something about this...i certainly would not

Its called damage control. Not heroism.
