I'm well curious to hear what SAIDS have to say.

I'm guessing it will be - the athlete chose to take the drugs - our hands were tied - we had no choice but to sanction him - we would have loved to help but the athlete made it impossible for us - we were just doing our jobs - if we don't find dopers the public complain - when we do find dopers the public complain - poor us - we are always in the wrong. Isn't that the standard government line?

This is the mail I sent to Drug Free SAIDS after my first TUE was declined...... YOU know what response I got to this letter...... THANKS BRANDON I ACKNOLOWGE RECIEPT OF YOUR MAIL..... Why didn't she say...... BRANDON I NEVER MADE SUCH COMMENTS OR GAVE SUCH PERMISSION... WHEN THIS CAME UP IN MY HEARING HER ANSWER IS THAT SHE TOOK MY MAIL TO KHALID CEO DRUG FREE AND WAS TOLD TO IGNORE ME....

Hi Anique

Thanks so much for your time this morning and I just wanted to send this e-mail regarding our telephone conversation to you this morning.

As mentioned previously I had all the required blood tests and full medical report, which was sent through too you by my doctor, Dr P>Applet who prescribed me the required treatment of Nebido Testosterone. You then mentioned to me that I may go ahead with the treatment and that SAIDS was not able to Deny me medical treatment if my doctor sees fit, as long I notified SAIDS accordingly. I have received the treatment from my Doctor which I later informed you about. Subsequent to my treatment on the 21st February 2013 and again on the 5th April, I have had 4 urine samples test in and out of competition. 3 in the Month of March and one now during the Msanzi road tour in April.

Now that I have been informed that my TUE has been denied, I will ask my doctor to contact you and further motivate it and understand why they have denied something that needed treatment. I have been honest and approach all parties concerned with regards to every step I have taken, and been assured at all times that I was following the correct procedures. I am also concerned about the test I have had till now, but have also declared it on my TUE application form that I am on the relevant testosterone treatment. I am not medically sure how long the Nebido stays in the system for as it is a very slow release testosterone to ensure long term health (explained by my doctor) and not short term performance benefits if any.

I am awaiting a phone call from my Doctor as to which I will ask him to respond in writing to yourself.

Kind regards

I did, it was quite difficult finding facts with all the bull dust posted.

Seeing you know it all maybe you could explain why the TUE was turned down, twice if i'm not mistaken.

Maybe you could mail SAIDS and ask them, you will sleep better.

OK! MBP is here with the voice of reason...... this whole thing is a big grey cock up but saying your racing days are over is just stjoopid because there is only so much fishing and shagging one can do.

If I may, I also have an opinion. There are two main themes in this thread, doping and ability (for the lack of a better word; also read nurture and nature).

Firstly, in terms of doping. Reading BS's posts it seems he was really naive, ignorant or whatever. I'm actually torn, because I feel A ban is justified, but I also have empathy for him. But, probably more than 90% of dopers come out with excuses and play the victim when later we find out it was all lies. We as the fans are conditioned in that most dopers are liars, because that is the reality. And I know it's sad. It also brings in another interesting point - is doping doping (0 or 100% \ black or white) or should there be different bans (for example 'mistake' only 6 months)? I don't know, but I'm more for the latter. And don't get me wrong, I'm 100% against doping.

The second interesting point that has been touched on has to do with sport itself and human ability. We did have a few good threads on who should be the best in a sport, nature vs/and nurture, etc. My talent on a bicycle won't get me to pro level. I know that. And I accept that. I'm not going to dope to try to become pro. Now, I know it gets tricky, but if you have low testosterone, should you really be competing as a pro if you need a supplement to "make the field level"? I guess it's more a question for the sports scientists and perhaps I can ask Dr Tucker to write something. I actually don't know. It's just one big grey area.

My two cents. I'm enjoying reading all the comments and I've learned a lot already.

My sleeping habits have got fork oil to do with you or the topic, If you cannot or do not want to answer the question then rather dont comment.

And what we do here is South Africa has fork oil to do with you.

If you want answers, go and find them.

But surely racing is not the only cycling we need to do ?

Sorry Blackbeard I'm a dick and a cheat!!! You are more than welcome to smash me with all the criticism you like,,,,, I hope in any walk of life you never make a mistake and get crucified for it... (maybe that would satisfy you...)

I don't know you from Jack, so I have nothing against you personally. My criticism was directed at the comments of other Hubbers a propos your spindoctoring. You knowingly took a banned substance, where is this mistake you keep referring to? On your drug control sheets from March 2013 that Slowbee removed you represented that you had a TUE for testosterone. Not True. SAIDS is a legally constituted body which acted in terms of its mandate. The sentence was a competent one. You gambled, knowing the consequences, and lost. There is no mistake and no one else is responsible for your predicament.

The question I have is what benefit if any at all will nebido give to a user? From what I understand this will not elevate your performance from a C batch rider into the elite ranks does not matter how much you train...
