We must therefore apologise unreservedly for those of you who experienced glitches yesterday and thank you for the patience and support we received while we investigated the cause of the phone and payment issues experienced. What happened? On Tuesday morning, our payment gateway and bank experienced a serious technical error which affected the processing of card transactions. In addition our new VOIP phone system battled to cope with the massive number of calls – almost 7000 calls in the space of 5 hours - which resulted in many of the calls being dropped. We have since resolved the matter with our service provider. We appreciate that a lot of trust goes into the online exchanging of money and understand the frustration of being unable to complete the entry process as planned. Please be assured that we have worked around the clock since the issues occurred yesterday to source accurate feedback and solutions from all the parties concerned and rectify the problems. We are confident that the issues have now been resolved. We can confirm that your entry payment has been unsuccessful. Your entry is currently saved and will be confirmed once payment is received. How you are affected: As a result of the banking issue explained above, your payment attempt was unsuccessful. Scenario 1: You completed your entry but have received a payment failure message, or have not received a confirmation from our online entry system stating that your entry is successful. You would need to resubmit payment by close of business on 25 September by using the following link http://2015cycletour-ctctt.queue-it.net/cancel.aspx?c=ctctt&e=2015cycletour&q= Scenario 2: You completed your entry, have received a sms from your bank that payment is authorised or reserved but the transaction failed before payment was received on our side. You would need to resubmit payment by close of business on 25 September by using the following link http://2015cycletour-ctctt.queue-it.net/cancel.aspx?c=ctctt&e=2015cycletour&q= How to check if your payment was unsuccessful with your bank: If you do online banking, you will see that your card transaction will either have a “hold”, “pending” or “authorised” status. This means that the payment hasn’t reached us, but is still, technically, with your bank. Once your bank is satisfied that the transaction did not take place, the amount will be transferred back into your active credit card balance. How this reversal is treated will vary, depending on who you bank with, but we have received confirmation that this process will take anywhere between two and seven working days. If you are in any way unsure and want to confirm the status of your (failed) purchase, please contact your bank. Entries will be allowed from today, Wednesday 17 September at 15h30 until Thursday 18 September at 15h30.

Now for the annual land claims fight with some spiders for my road bike... think I have to get used to that device again before One Tonner rolls along!
