Must say the final 30 mins on a flat yet technical circuit was quite intense hey

 

Great control by Tinkoff Saxo to keep 'Berto relatively safe

Hesjedal was also in trouble and got caught behind a crash but managed to rejoin the peloton

But looks like the crash that split the bunch was caused by a dude riding his bike off the pavement and into the pelaton!!

Secretly hoping that Cannondale-Garmin can make some magic happen

Tough one to call on todays stage... good possibility for the breakaway to survive (depending who is in it)

 

M. Matthews can climb fairly decently so if he gets over in the main group and the peloton pulls it back in the run to the finish my money is on him.

 

outside chance - kind of stage profile that sets up well for someone like sylvain chavanel to stay away from the chasing group

Giro d’Italia favorite Richie Porte (Sky) will be getting a good night’s sleep during his run for the pink jersey. Or at least he hopes so. Marginal gains can sometimes be had during the night as well.

In a first among the elite peloton, Team Sky has brought along a super-sized mobile home for Porte to sleep in every night. It’s not that Italian hotels are bad — the team just wants to give Porte the best possible rest each night as he targets a run at the pink jersey.
