Meanwhile in California, with an onboard cam, at 45 km/h with little room to spare seconds before his stage win:

I think I have watched that video about 10 times today. It's incredible.

And as soon as todays giro ended I watched the last 10km of that stage.. incredible riding by Sagan... just incredible.

And his sprint. . Yoh yoh

So the wait begins to see if AC arrives at the start later today or not - and a 264km stage today is not doing him any favours...

Hoping he can make it through the weekend to rest day on monday

I didn't realise the Giro/Tour double has actually been achieved by someone. Panton 1998 according to the BBC?

. my LBS has this poster up when you do your bike setup. I always find myself staring at it.

Besides those 2 I wonder who else did the double post-39623-1431670721,0876.jpg

A number of people have done it. Pantani was only the most recent.

Big Mig did the double twice... in a row (1992 and 1993).

The step up from the double is The Triple Crown. And that has been achieved by only 2 people: Eddie Merckx and Stephen Roche.

I'm furious about that crash. :cursing:  :cursing:  :cursing:  :cursing:  (see?)

Why do he needs such a huge lens anyway? It is not as if the riders are a 100 m away. duh!!

I also can't understand that the organisers can't get a wider finish.

On a lighter note, I must admit that perhaps I was a bit hasty on my original thoughts about the commentators.

They sort of "grow" on me and I thoroughly enjoyed their comments yesterday. Especially that part about the numbers. When Dan mentioned the 69, I just new that Carlton won't let it just go by.

BEEFIE BERT's tweet says. ... In 1hour I'll be at the start of the stage. They have protected my shoulder and hope it will not go out again. Will be a hard day with 264km.

well if Contador could pull this off, he would be the concurrent reigning champ of all three grand tours.that must count for something
