The one stage out of the whole tour so far I couldn't get home early to watch the last hour or so... and it happens to be one of the best.

Before this race didn't like Contador much but have huge respect for the way he has ridden this tour and yesterdays stage... slowly becoming a fan :whistling:

Yes, he's a genuine champion.

Has the all the natural talent, but also has the right attitude (he's got some serious mongrel in him).

He's on a level above all the rest, for sure.

And on top of that, he's still a positive guy - always has time for the press and his fans. I haven't seen any arrogance or aloofness about him. He has the respect of his fellow riders (see how many from other teams just started riding for him yesterday when they saw he'd been left behind with that mechanical) and seems to think of others first before his needs (his appreciation for his team, and we heard he wanted to give the Dutchie the stage win yesterday for all the work he did - but Landa refused). Always has a smile.

Have to admit, I'm a fan too.

We just need him to rip Landa apart on one of the remaining mountain stages. Then the Tour will be complete.

I reckon he will worry about the tour when he gets there.

Somehow I doubt that he's adopted a "let's pitch up and see what happens" attitude.

Be that as it may, he's having an awesome Giro. It's been great to watch.

Lol, I've lost for riders after the Big name sprinters left so i doubt i will be in the top three for much longer.

Side Note : Well today i really Hope Nizzolo breaks his streak of being the bridesmaid and for once in his life becomes the Bride on a Grand Tour.

Passo del Mortirolo! I want to ride it.

10 ish x Vissershok steep section (1,0 km at 9%), Avenge

Hehehe

Motorola, as I call it, is avg 10% with 15 percent ramps for just over 10 kms. :excl:

That will probably be the awesome penultimate stage 20, which finishes at the famous mountain-top finish of Sestriere, but first goes over the dirt road climb of the Colle delle Finestre (the highest point of of this Giro - first over the top gets the Cima Coppi award).

Because the next day is the flat final procession into Milan, he can let it all hang out on Sestriere without worrying about what comes next.

Yesterday might have been the queen stage. But this coming Saturday is the one I've been looking forward to the most, by far. Expect some serious fireworks on Saturday.

Saturday's big one. Don't dare miss it, folks :)

With all the drama of the Giro it is not advisable to miss any stages. Even the TT was eventful. It's really like an Opera.

My son has an archery competition on Saturday morning they should he done by 3pm. . It's great that the school started that as a sport (this week).. really it is, but the timing couldn't have been worse. . Practice every day from 4-5 now. .

I'm sure he has a plan for le tour, but doubt he will try and save himself like many are talking about. Although yesterday's ride probably gave him enough of a cushion to just chill out. As for chilling, IMHO I don't think he will.

I have never been a fan of Contador for verisous reasons, (As and Andy Schleck fan i couldn't forgive the #Chaingate saga & The Tainted Beef all while in baby blue Astana Kit), I have however always known he has serious talent but after yesterdays stage i feel compelled to say "Everyone has made mistakes , I'm no angel so forgive and move on."

I have so much respect for him now, and even more hatred for Astana and what their culture inside the team stands for.

As for Kruijswijk, i Think Lotto Jumbo have a massive talent on their hands here. They as a team are going to be a major player soon with the likes of him, Sep Vanmarcke, Wilco Kelderman.

The chaingate thing was seen from 2 sides.. the schlek fans saw it as Bert attacking when Andy's chain dropped. And many saw it as a bad gear change when Bert made the move and the chain dropped. . I think that andy said when AC attacked he had a bad gear change and the chain came off.

BUT it's how you respond in situations like that and that of yesterday that makes you a champion. I don't know if any of the other big GC riders would he able to respond the way Bert did.. he is one of a kind that one.

You guys see how the young dutchman's eyes lit up when the interviewer told him what Bert had to say about him..
