Just read this stunner by Chad Haga:

At the back, we lamented the fact that we never get to hang out with the boys in blue, but we’ve come to accept that they just might not like us.

How does he climb the Mortirolo in 65min with an avg heart rate of only 137BMP. Mine would be breaking the barriers

Infact his avg for the whole day was only 133...

I enjoy the fight Astana is putting up. If there are riders not clean then by all means catch them and shame the team. I am passed being skeptical about anything because of what happened in the past. I just enjoy the showdown. This is a great Giro and the sponsors and supporters pay for exactly that.

I was not a big Andy fan. Always felt that dropping a chain is sloppy shifting or going off in the wrong gear but anyway old news. Same as the doping thing. Been done to death. Not that I ever believed the Schlecks were clean and well we have proof of that now as well I suppose.

I am a big Sagan fan but why is his contract the biggest in cycling? Surely AC is worth more? It's not like Sagan is the best cyclist in the pro peleton. He isn't even the best cyclist in Tinkoff in my opinion.

I know cycling is a teamsport and there are tactics involved, but what Astana did yesterday was just wrong. To use Katusha as an excuse does not sit well either. When they reached Katusha, they could have sit up and wait for Tinkoff, but no, they just keep pressing on.

And how was that arrogance by Landa. Celebrating the win as if he actually "deserved"  it, and then during the interview he was really surprised at how strong he was. IT'S BECAUSE YOU WHEEL SUCKED FOR THE WHOLE RACE YOU TWIT!!!!!!!!. except for the last 3km.

I think AC will give him a hiding of note in the next mountain finish. Just to prove a point and just because he can..

Sorry but he had all the reason to "suck wheel"! For me he is the rider of the Giro so far. His team leader was behind so no reason to contribute. All good tactics. As for attacking while contador had a mechanical it is slightly debatable. Katusha did play a part there

This is really a great race so far. One of the better GT's we've seen in a long time.

So glad I watched yesterday's stage. One of the perks working for yourself. Today is gonna be hectic though.

I think I would have had a few coffee stops on the way to the top

Nothing to debate.. Landa himself said they knew he had a problem and decided to make it hard and teamed up with Katusha to do so.

Also note you play the long game. Help here.. 'give' stage win there.. etc.. Aru was utterly alone yesterday.. no help from no one, where as AC received a lot of help from other teams.. astana are going to find themselves alone and no one will assist them when they need it most.

I can promise you the first team that will help out tinkoff when needed will be Lotto jumbo. .

Astana are burning bridges everywhere.

I fully understand that the tactic was to check AC and he couldn't help with the work load since his leader is behind, but is it ethical then to go for the win? Shouldn't the right thing have been to let Kruiswjik have the win since he did the majority of the work and Landa wheel suck the whole way? You can't suck wheel and thus save energy and then go for the win. And then have the audacity to say "I couldn't believe how strong I was" That's arrogance and as Gen said, why burn bridges?

I'm sorry I don't respect this guy and I don't respect Astana.

Also never been an Alberto fan, but hats off, that ride yesterday was properly epic.

An old school "I'm the boss" type statement.

I can forgive Landa a bit of over excitement at the end after a day like that.

Definitely not cool to attack when a contender is in trouble, but if one team goes, what to do?

If you do chase them down and manage to convince them to sit up and allow the leader back, he's then got the advantage as he's spent less energy catching up than you did chasing down.

Landa is 2nd so no more sitting in anymore. He now has to take the race to Contador. Let's see how he copes with that and let's see how much help Astana gets from the rest of the peleton.

For sure Landa is a real talent. Seems a little enamored of himself though. We will see.

I think that management waited to see how it played out. If the time gap to Aru were smaller then I don't think Landa would have went for the win necessarily. When the scale tipped towards Astana having an obvious new contender they gave him the green light to put time into AC. This is my opinion anyway
