widget Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I heard he rode the Argus for charity, I didnt see him or even know until the other day, but, I think old Jan is a decent guy. Leave all the politics and "hoo haa" aside and he is just a regular Joe, like you and me enjoying a day in the sun, no bodygaurds, no pomp and ceremony, no big headlines and banners, just old Jan and family. I have to wonder if the great Mr Armstrong would do likewise.?? Somehow I doubt it.  Â

The door opens and there is old Jan with the driver trying to tell the Copper who Jan was, but the Copper was having none of it - "you are not going frew, I am the boss here" Eventually, the frame comes out the Hummer, which is a personalised Ulrich machine in white with gold bling cable housings and other bling items. Looks like he may have started his own bike company like LeMond?  Shook his hand, felt the weight of his bike (pretty light) and went off to my chute for the start. He is still a legend in my books, and was very friendly also.Â

porky Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Yeah, I like Jans attitude to his professional life, he never took it all too seriously, generally he enjoyed a few pork pies, drank a bit of beer, enjoyed a party or two and didnt worry too much. Some might say those were his failings, but I disagree, intense people just wear you out, Jan took it all in his stride and still found time for some fun.      Â
