Decided to post it to this thread because it's worth reading (my apologies if it has already been posted - haven't been on this thread in a while). Turns out there’s actually a French term for those who have this deep antagonism towards Sky, and will not accept anything positive about them no matter what the team does: la malaise Sky (‘Sky sickness’). Feedback from other teams and riders in the peloton that they don’t have any ill feelings towards Sky’s performances. Another reason for me to give Sky the benefit of the doubt. If there was a bubbling undercurrent of resentment from their competitors that would be a red flag for me. In that case most of the summer races in South Africa must take place on rivers of Tarmac then in Stellenbosch when the temps are 40 degrees?
