Pah Bear Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Not a froome supporter. Froome's team protect him from damage whether it's wind or other dangers. Same with tinkoff for Contador and Astana for Nbali. I just don't see other teams are doing the same. There's a difference in riding with and in support. For example Sagan as green jersey leader is even prepared to stand off his bike because of gc standings. Quintana and valverde seem to be rather in contention (which is fine if agreed between them I dunno ). I just said quin seems to work mostly alone. But if you feel I'm wrong then that's your opinion. What I'm saying there is more to cycling for a team than you the individual. Some said they don't see how the team helps. Without your team no cyclist will make the GC standing or ranking. Am I wrong?Unfortunately, the fact that you not a Froome supporter makes you blind to everything else. Even your argument re team support makes no sense. Even Quin has been supported just like all other GC riders. Don't let blinkers make you blind bro.
Pah Bear Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Hate that stuff. And I can't help but support Froome more and more as it goes on. He races with a British license but owns a house here and rides at Suikerbos over the summer. I feel some loyalty to him Read his book. It's very interesting. He didn't have an easy life. It wasn't all privalage and fun at a posh school. He had it quite hard in Kenya. He did a lot of his early riding there. I cycled through Kenya. It was challenging. Can't agree more. Like you said, he might be British, but his home grown. Hope I can run into him at Suikerbos. Will have to be on top of the hill already so I can see him coming. Only way I would see him. Lol
Gen Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 You guys have it all wrong it's actually all about Sagan[emoji12] [emoji7]
Gen Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 You mean SecondaganI'm sure you can do better than that.[emoji6]
CAAD4 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Well, then I am glad I am less than an average cyclist. I would have stopped and moered the guy whether I wore yellow or not. He would have had a nice carbon necklace . . . I don't recall any other rider ever being treated this badly by fans and the media. To me, this year's race was more level/equal among the top guys. There was never a single rider that blew everyone away. Froome is where he is thanks to his team. Quitana is going to be the rider to watch the next few years.Lance had it worse.
Gen Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Let me try..... Secondagan....agan....agan....agan You are missing a couple agan's missing there.

T-Bob Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Not a GC threat but a podium threat, if they were 3,4th, saw that Froome had an issue so did not attack only to have some one lower down do it and overtake them they might be peeved. But not the top step at all. Movistar have marked Nib's out of the game in the last few days. I think Nib's played the cards well. He isn't a GC threat and 2 & 3 have charged down almost everything with him since we entered the alps. At that moment Nibs knew that he could attack and 2 and 3 could not chase / counter because of their position with the yellow jersey. He was able to break free and as defending champ with something to salvage take the fight on symbolically to the line. Never a threat to Froome and Froome should have known that. As a champ it's when you say stuff and when you don't that defines your legacy. You should know your real threats and don't sweat the others who have their own race to ride.
Zatopek Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Nice pics of JJvR & Mainchees (half un-bib?) http://stories.strava.com/the-alps
Shebeen Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 With this kinda behaviour of the supporters in France they surely ain't winning no one over as to their treatment of any cyclists. Froome or any one as I said it before should not tolerate this kind of treatment. The French press should highlight their countrymen attitude. From the clip you could see he intentionally waited for froome. Just terrible. hope they manage to find and charge this pig.remember he could be from anywhere, nothing to say he's french at all. He could even be from england, head of the wiggo fan club for all we know
