'Dale Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Every time the heat has gone on or splits have happened, Porte has gone back as far as I could see. Koenig, Poels, Kennaugh, and Porte are all possie 136 and back, over 30mins behind. And they will be the mountain helpers. Either they have a huge problem, or they are being very cunning. (Or I am clueless... Which is highly likely... Like my jinxing everything above!)Playing the long game Saving them matches for the high mountainsThat's what I would do too if I was directeur sportif
Gen Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 The kind of thing I do. Really irritates my mates and used to infuriate my wife. I felt huge sympathy for the BMC guy. But yes it has its amusing component. This one is for you. .
Gen Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 He didn't just break it.. he I donni shattered it http://www.etixx-quickstep.com/en/news/show/tony-martin-update-broken-collarbone-abandons-le-tour-de-france/2307
Rocket-Boy Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I humbly withdraw my thought, m'lady... (you uncouth lot would be calling him Satan if he was!) One of my colleagues and I call him Satan, its a long standing joke from when we would have furious updates going over whatsapp and it would autocorrect Sagan to Satan!
tombeej Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Easily one of the worst stage finishes I have ever seen. What the hells was up with those fools waiting to go and some noob just rolling over the line for the win. Just checking - that was a joke, right? Calling Stybar a noob?
Rocket-Boy Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Just checking - that was a joke, right? Calling Stybar a noob?He isnt a noob as such but its his first TDF so in that respect yes he is a noob.
tombeej Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 He isnt a noob as such but its his first TDF so in that respect yes he is a noob. Multiple world champ, spring classics star and winning a stage that was tailormade for his talents. But first TDF, so that makes him a noob.... ok boet
Patchelicious Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 He isnt a noob as such but its his first TDF so in that respect yes he is a noob. That moment you pass him 14kms into Ventoux you can call him a noob....
tombeej Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Like I said, TDF noob. Go read my post again. No, your post said the other riders basically let "some noob rolling over the line for the win" (your words). Now that it's clear you weren’t joking, two things: (1) you don't know who Stybar is and (2) you and I must have been watching two very different races. Because what I saw was one of the most powerful and decorated classics riders (where there are just a handful of the worlds best out there who can hope to stay on his wheel when he decides to go) attack Sagan co. with 800m to go and literally rode them all off his wheel. Watch the footage again - when he went they all tried to go with him, including Sagan, and he just dropped them. Only when the gap got past 50 - 80m and they all realised that he was gone, did they start looking around at each other for 2nd place. That was a devastating attack and the win was 100% fully deserved. He klapped the others, they didn't 'let' him go. How about giving the world champ the respect and recognition he deserves for this win.
isn Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Favourites for stage 7.today? Contador, Sagan, Rodriguez??? Would like to call it as 1. Contador 2. Rodriguez 3. Sagan
T-Bob Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hope Froome decides not to wear the jersey today, would be a nice touch.
Patchelicious Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hope Froome decides not to wear the jersey today, would be a nice touch. It would be "nice" but don't be upset if he does. I don't think that he would wear it unless there is some rule that says he must. Martin is still officially ahead of him. I think if Martin doesn't start the stage then he will be removed from the leader board.
StevieL Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 A "normal" day perhaps? This tour has been anything but so far...
