Its a spoof with the roles reversed ... as it is generally the ladies who get bummed with us guys going riding all the time ... and also us playing with our bikes afterwards.

So it ends with a spoof of a partner basically saying "its me or the bike" ... Which in fact my first girlfriend said to me ... needless to say ... she lost ....

But my wife IS a mountain biker - and its awesome! ... MTB Chicks rule!

Sometimes that comes with its own set of disadvantages.

Like having to ride much slower or shorter than you normally would to ride together, or not being able to get away for some "me" time because you ride together.

Its awesome having your partner with you when you ride and you dont get moaned at for doing it though.

It also has it's advantages.

My wife rides and uses the same frame size too, so I "technically" have a dual sus and a hardtail at my disposal.

I'm still trying to convince my wife that she needs a dropper post and wider wheels on "her" bike....hehehe

It does indeed and I am happier that my wife does ride, its just a pain sometimes.

My wife rides; she is the one that got me to start this sport. Now so hooked.

I can see that for sum it’s a case of: My Girlfriend Is A Mountain Biker

it is great being able to share the passion but you should also be able to be honest with your partner and say hey - I need some solo time in the saddle and go ride on your own or with your mates without a month of silent treatment and no treats.

My girlfriend rides, I love it, doing races together is nice. Major disadvantage for me, I always have to fix everything on her bike. Tired of it.

For her birthday or Christmas or 'just as somethinh nice'  buy her a voucher for a bike mechanics/skills training thing...or go on that training camp they have in Greyton together which deal with all that. I would have loved it if my bf did that for me/us. (now it is a bit late)

To be honest sometimes I do wish I was with a guy that doesnt ride because when I try something new I want him to stand next to the jamp/gap/drop to check how I am doing it/where my back wheel lands/ is my run in fast enough/etc etc and that takes lots of time away from the guys riding and I ALWAYS feel guilty.

Sometimes I also think I wouldnt mind being with a guy that reads a book or something while I ride a section a couple of times just to have someone there 'for incase something goes wrong'.

In my case he would also need to like to wash dishes, because that is for sure one of the worst things in life to do.
