My usual warning for Prepsol - be careful - it makes some white parts pink!

I've seen pink Avid brake calipers from using Prepsol.

We'll ignore the fact that someone actually paid for Avid brakes for now

Yip, never bring prepsol to your bike, take components to prepsol...read chain and cassette...first remove from bike.

You can buy prepsol in clear undyed form. Unfortunately might not be available in CT. I buy it in 25L drums from the factory. We use that stuff for all applications. Even use it on stubborn stains on clothing.

I know the pink version does leave stains. Not so in the clear form.

We are looking for a good de-greaser, only for the chain and hub, and Prepsol was recommended.

Not looking for a bike cleaner.

Advise and guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Dirt Nurse does a brake cleaner that works like magic as a degreaser.

Prepsol is the one...so the recommendation is a good one, however it comes with a a big BUT

Dont put it on you bike, spray your bike, dilute it and then spray, pour on your bike...

Remove you chain with a quicklink and put the chain in prepsol(decant prepsol in a old butro bakkie) for a couple of hours. Do the same with your cassette. Wash with warm water and dry...fit, lube, ready to roll

NEVER BRING IT NEAR YOUR BIKE

heed the above warnings - Prepsol is too invasive for bicycle cleaning...

Just dilute...used it on my mx bike for years and as well as my mtb.

If you want some MTB specific cleaner contact Roy on 082 604 5342. He has some new formulation that is the sh!t
