gees what time to you go sleep, 6pm?

Hi Milky, we go to bed between 21h00 and 22h00 you get used to it very quickly, the mornings we not riding the "biological clock" wakes you in any case.

We have to put in the work as we will be doing the Trans Karoo a week later as well.

....Then I am not alone..... I am normally in noddy land between 21h00 & 22h00 on average Monday to Friday. Up sometimes before 4am or just after. Also try get in around 2 hrs before work and 1.5hrs on a recovery week. At least on the weekend can get an extra hour of shut eye before heading out...

True what is said. The biological clock eventually wakes you up on its own when you've been getting up early for long enough....

I'm out cold by 8pm. Also get up at 4am. No traffic and in Cape Town, you can't try leave your training for after work. Just too damn windy!!

Another hard week ahead, then tapering for the Argus. Full steam ahead again after that!

This week was 17hrs.

I know, nothing compared to the racing snakes out there. But I'm not going for a podium...just survival for me. Aiming to be done within 24hrs, so I don't have to go without sleep for 2 nights in a row!!

Trans Karoo a week later?

If you don't race both you would be fine, I did it last year and hit the wall at 160km in the TK and never recover. The time between the 2 races are just not enough for me.

Same as all the others - put your head down and ride. Rooiberg is a b1tch and the last few km's into town can feel never-ending.

Just ride a comfortable pace.
