An unrelated question, what is the best bmx to get for a lightie? He is 8 and has a Mongoose Rockadile 20" MTB, but he desperately wants a bmx for Christmas, and have no clue what to buy him.

That looks really cool.

I would grab those stickers but I will not have use for them as I try and stick to the Vintage stickers and I order them through www.bmxproducts.com. Thanks for the offer.

I suggest you start the search and sourcing of parts now already. The prices also are not cheap. So start getting into it now already.

That comes down to budget.

I can speak mostly about mongoose as I am a fanatic. The top of the line Mongoose is a Fraction which cost about 7.5k for the 2014 model from the shop. But then he is only 8 and that would be overkill...maybe a Mongoose capture or subject or etc. even although for an 8 year old its also overkill but will last longer than another cheap department store bike which cost between 2-4k depending on which model it is.

So once you do decide on budget then you can decide. 8 yrs old is an awkward age to decide on anything "big".

Can you still pick up the Mongoose pro class?

Here and there yes if you are patient. Me on the other hand...I am not too phased about the Pro Class. If it falls into my lap then bonus. But other than that the Supergoose is the same geometry and also stronger...The Pro Class is lighter due to certain thinner tubing and the option of Black Chrome which these days will be off already. I know 2 people locally with Pro Class frames. One building and another just came across the frame.

Found a missing piece to my collection. A stainless steel Mongoose Bar. This bar came off a Mongoose called a Californian Special.

Where did you have these made? I had my frame powder coated white, so will need black ones though...
