Plenty!

Last year my garmin said 1035m metres over 102.8km

But its the first 10 km that has the worst climb.

thanks , so not too bad considering the 94.7 was more...good training.

entered this for the first time this year, how much elevation can I expect?

According to my Garmin Elevation gain was 1079m for the 2014 event.

Correct but depending what group you ride the race is made in the first 10km. The vets attack up the first climb and if you get dropped its solo/small group the rest of the way through the cradle.

Hi guys, Mr Bronchitis is back after 4 weeks of barking like a dog and 10kgs heavier (lol)  , obviously no cycling ... just finished the cortisone stint yesterday, so ... How soon can i get back to training?

Fast one and Berge were both on the cards ... I may not be in race form but can I still do the races? Seeding sucks at the moment so thats not an issue at 28

I reckon enter it an treat it as a training ride..ie don't over exert...but make a call closer to time they allow entries on the day anyway...

This then Serengeti (which is 109km now). Starting AL but will climb at my own pace because I hang back on that fast descent anyway - hopefully I will hookup somewhere after that. Good luck peoples!

Aah yeah! The inside of the hurt box. Now I remember it!

No incidents. Just inside last year's time. I saw one of the more impressive pulls up a hill (for us backmarkers) ever. Guy on a Look in Gauteng Dairies kit. Pulled a large group of AL on the rolling hill up to the three "towers" all by himself. Freaking impressive. Please tell me he is a hubber!

Now for tmrw at Serengeti. Eish.

Apart from that good day out, wind was hectic but managed to stick to some nice bunches. Bthanks for the guy in mtn/spez kit for getting our small bunch to rotate quite well.

Nice ride :-)

I was in FL and we formed a nice bunch just after the 102/55 split that continually grew and shrank right up until the T junction after Maropeng. The only hairy bits were when cars passed us on blind bends or rises. Not sure what would have happened if something had come the other way ;-) From the caves onwards I pretty much just rode my own ride. I know the cradle well enough to know what's coming next, so no surprises. The rough surface on Beyers up past Heia Safari certainly saps the life out of you!

We did have one MTN Club 100 guy in our group who couldn't ride in a straight line for toffee. You'd think he was dodging a sniper the way he was weaving about. Thankfully he could keep up so it ceased to be a problem.

A good morning out. next road race - Dischem Ride for Sight.

Not sure of time, gps reset but I think around 3:20 .....not unhappy....
