Thanks 50cc ;)

The bits and bobs are minimal, dig here dig there, swop, the small special bits are the problem, soon it will be up and running, (luckily I bought mr potgieters NINER a few months ago)

Then I need a new color scheme

I should be sorted by tomorrow with the insurance they have been very good, confirming everything as they should 100% to the T CHECKING EVERYTHING from cell towers to banking records to color of my under PANT, getting confirmation on all my info I gave and confirmed my where abouts,

Money should be in the bank tomorrow,

Must say It helps to have all the details they want, and you need to understand there is a process that must be followed then all works out

Saying all of the above I now sit with a dilemma

Insurance pays,,,,,,,someone phones me I pay them if they find the bike R10k as per the reward, I then give back the bike to the new owner the insurer ,,,obviously it no longer belongs to me, I then ask insurer for a price to buy back my bike,,,,,,,to what point does it make financial sense if the bike is damaged, looking at my ex bike rack there will be damage and the fact that some creature has been riding it

I know I had a spare YAWYD top cap at some stage.

I will look for it and if I can find it, it is yours.

SO HUBBERS MONEY IS IN THE BANK, OBVIOUSLY I AM HAPPY ABOUT THIS,

SO THE QUESTION IS DO I STILL OFFER THE REWARD TO GET THE BIKE BACK AND GIVE IT TO MY INSURER AND HOPE ITS NOT TO BADLY DAMAGED, AND HOPE THE PRICE TAG ON BUYING IT BACK IS NOT TO HIGH????????????????

MANY FACTORS TO CONSIDER

Posted

What will the situation be if someone actually finds your bike, who is not on the Hub and heard of the reward via the grapevine?

The reward is the incentive for all the strangers out there to find and return the bike.

saying that here is one scenario

i pay someone for a badly damaged niner R10K give it to the insurance they say "ok give us half"what we paid you out

i end up paying anotherR10-R15K TO FIX IT "my niner" ends up costing stooopid money

It was a good carrot and stick. There aren't too many people nowadays that will look for and return your Niner out of the goodness of their heart. They need to be incentivised.

Let's hope that your bike is returned by someone who won't accept the reward.

The bike is no longer yours to offer the reward on... It is now salvage for the insurance company should it be recovered

is that a legal fact?? not fighting not getting clever just asking???

Yes it is,

you would have to buy it back from insurance.
