C'mon Amy, wake up, girl!!!

There's a race going on here... !!!   :whistling:

All good that we root for the strong ones in the beginning......but when fatigue sets in it becomes anyones game.....the real test will start around 18:00 today.....we will see a drastic change in the leaderboard (imho).....my money will be lying with Usher at this stage.....but we have only just begun....sleep deprivation will hammer a tired cyclist big time.....(from a guy who gets tired riding to the shop and back)

someone mentioned earlier that there are no box drops...but surely they can change clothes and replenish nutrition etc when they stop to sleep  as they will have a team van following them

Without blowing it out the water, some of the elements of the race have been a bit distorted. 'Unsupported' is not really what this is in the true sense. You get waterpoints, battery pack swap outs, bike mechanics with the option of pre-scheduled bookings (and massages...seriously?!). BUT you don't get any gear drops. if you want something, carry it from the start. There'll be some shops along the way, but bike specific stuff will be hard to find (some oke might cross the line in a kaap agri item) and they shut at 5pm.

It's also billed a the 'hardest race on earth'. That sounds pretty hardcore, but is just plain bollocks.

Don't take this the wrong way - would love to see the Munga grow, and if this sort of PR spiel needs to be done to it, then C'est la vie.

Seems Amy is having a nap?

She took a decent kip at the 24hour too... cost her 3/4 laps and her lead, but she made them up by being fresher. Like BH says, the real fun and games lies ahead - it's moer tough going 24hours hard, 36/48/60 hours?? You'll be dealing with some serious demons beyond comprehension

Glad we're getting to see a little snippet of Alex's dream... now throw that million dollar first prize back in, get Lance, Jens, Kulhavy, Susi etc on the start line along with the best endurance/24hour athletes in the world and let's watch it all live

They would need one hell of a siren to wake me up after riding so far, will need those shock devices for each leg as well to see if any life would be left in them legs to ride on
