I'd asked forgiveness earlier in the thread - something I'm trying. Horrible tyre - actually has lumps so you think your wheel is out of true when its not. Got it on special.

It's getting changed tomorrow.

OK, you're forgiven, Didn't see that earlier. I have similar problem with a Rocket Ron on one of my bikes. No matter what I do this things ends up lumpy. Also got it on special.

Guess it's true what they say, "Goed koop is duur koop". (Hope I got that right, haven't had to write Afrikaans since school days   )

yeah. Sweet. My Subrosas are 25mm internal, I think .

But still. Not going to buy anything in the near future. I have  anew bike in mind!

Spank also make a narrow enduro rim. the spike race 28 (aptly named after the external width) I THINK

28mm probably being on the far end of rim width vs weight comprimise

So some feedback on the Light Bicycle 35mm rims that I've been running for almost a year. After putting these things through some serious ***, I finally detonated my wheel on Puffadder pass - trying to jump rock gardens & getting it horribly wrong. Landed heavily on a big square-edged rock & cracked my rear carbon rim. The tire is history.

To be clear, I have no doubt that if I was on my other bike (arch rims) I would have destroyed the wheel completely. It was an ill-timed, gut-wrenching impact that made me feel ill. The noise was unbelievable. I booted the tyre and put a tube in. The wheel wasn't even out of true. I rode home just fine. Turns out just the bead is cracked - the integrity of the wheel seems OK.

I got hold of the folk in China and within 3 days they agreed to send me a replacement free of charge. I didn't haggle, just told them what happened, sent a few pics, and they offered a new one.

Pretty good in my book.

Very, very good service from the folks at LB then. Great to hear!

What I also didn't mention is that my tyre pressure was irresponsibly low for the rocks. I ride at home in a lot of sand, so I run the tyres a bit soft. Doesn't help in the rocks.

I've been looking to build a new wheel set and seriously considering these, the price however is just exceedingly high with the crappy rand/dollar!

Looking at the 26" DH spec 31.6 internal, but not sure if it'll be too wide (if that's possible ).

So i had a look at the 27mm internal and found them on Alibaba (Neway Carbon) with free shipping (EMS).

It looks like the seller uses the same factory as LB, claiming to use the exact some process as LB, same wording (incl grammatical errors) and photos.
