Sorry you have got to be Sh****ng me !!!!

The land they were riding on (if all info is correct) is private property, so ONLY club members are allowed to use it. The landowners said that they want to be able to easily see a membership board to identify people riding on their land as club members so riding the trail without your board creates beeeeg issues with the landowner.

They were riding up the concrete road which has clearly been sign posted from the bottom entrance as prohibited. No cycling allowed - not even road bikes. With all the blind corners it becomes very dangerous for cars coming up or down let alone adding bikes to the equation. We've been warned numerous times about now riding on this road. They were trespassing and knowingly as well thus their pics should be posted on a cycling forum..

As mentioned...

Hmmm...is the emblem on the long sleeve rider's riding shorts a yellow Africa depiction?

As in:

Because if it is, I know who that is. Used to be my boss.

wow so sad & this is what it boils down to "bosses" people riding +50k bikes & can't even pay a small fee for club membership let alone obey the Riding rules that's the least you could've done as a rogue rider!!

same thing at Jonkershoek - the guys sneaking in are the guys riding the fully specced bikes - can spend R60 - R80k on the mountie, but not the R25 permit fee.

You don't see people sneaking into Golf courses, playing a sneaky 18 holes.  If you don't want to pay course fees you can take your PW to the park and muck about there, or pay R10 for a putt-putt game.  Same with MTB in my opinion, if you don't want to pay the permit fees, there are plenty of dirt roads around, that won't cost you a cent.

I rode Hillcrest on the weekend. Saw 3 guys riding there Canondale Lefties, S works shoes the whole trip, no boards. sorry I couldnt remember if you could get a day pass for Hillcrest, I checked now and see you cant. Not sure what I could have done, 3 big guys vs 1!! I did have a picture in my mind of a knife through the wheel and a long walk home for some!!

I dont get it. Its someone elses property, they say you can use it on the following conditions. Really not rocket science

As far as I know there is an honesty box at Hillcrest?

Ja, because people can't read all the notices at the entrance either.
