Thank goodness there's no more gravel this year.

Well, i have a very bad seeding position, "S" but i guess its due to me not having done the Argus or 99er before and basically being unseeded. Have to start somewhere...

 

The profile of the 99er is kinda scary.

Personally, I've always found this race to be tougher than the Argus. Actually, most races in the Durbanville, Paarl, Wellington area feel tougher than the Argus. I don't know if it's just the adrenaline on Argus day which makes you push a bit harder or the fact this route is just generally tougher.

 

I dunno how the rest feels.

A few ideas about the tougher-ness

 

Most might not be at their peak fitness (form) before Argus

Bunches splinter in the climbing finalè (exposure to the wind on the open plains)

Climbing 7% plus gradients after 100 kms can be rof (to say the least)
