ACs... Great wheels. Great hubs.

Have two sets of SLR's 26" very light and strong...just have to keep freewheel hub clean, NO GREASE, just a few drops of light oil. A freind has AC Race, great wheels, very light, but a bit soft, if you're hard on equipment

They're my favourite brand for road too - so dependable, light and stiff

SL 1520gram for 29er.

Wide lightning 1569g.

SLR were more than 1600gram for 29er wheels.

 

If money were no option, I would go for Crossmax SL. (+-4k more than Wide L)

Mavic are great wheels, but on the 29er the crossmax wheels have alot of flex. Go Easton ea 90xc.

I run mavic crossmax sl and they dont flex!!!!! Great wheels and super strong!!!

Wide lightning no contest. Far wider which h means a better platform for the tires. Yes the mavic are bling but they're kaaak narrow.

Like said above i think it is all about your preference and if you use a brand and it works you will probably stick to it. I have the AC wide lightnings and are very happy with my wheels.

A little off the topic,but seriously look at the special CWC is running on the ZTR/Hope combo...don't know if it can be beaten..

No flex in my slr. My Easton wheels seem to wear the bearings.
