I don't like Fox. Enough said  .

Any RS will be great on the bike.

PS: I keep up (sometimes am even quicker) with my mates running Pikes on my little ol' Reba   :w00t: . And I don't have a hole in my pocket...

Have Fox now but are damn expensive to service and maintain so will rather get RS then.

Btw..had my 2013 SID solo air 100mm at agents inquiring about extending travel to 120mm for my Tallboy. It was explained that the solo air forks require a new air cartridge if you want to extend travel. Easier with dual air if stanchions are long enough...i am certain this applies to sid and reba.

You are correct, and the same applies to some of the fox forks.

Try get hold of a RS dual air as then all you have to do is remove a spacer, for the SID's there can go 110mm or 120mm and the same with the REBA's. select models can go 140mm.

To replace the air cartridge should set you back just over R1000 (this is needed for the non dual air forks 2013 onwards)

Also look at the RS Revelation's

Yep. Which is why I'm super happy I've found a 2010 revelation dual air for my hardtail. It's currently 150mm but I'm gonna space that puppy down to about 130mm or so. 100 wasn't right for me (had a Reba on there originally) and then the 150mm Revelation I had on there ages ago (before it got transferred to my Duallie and then sold) was just too AM'y for it.

Actually, no. Screw that. It was perfect at 150mm. Darn fun as well!

If you don't come right with the revelation, which would be so awesome..... Rather go buy a suntour epicon set to 120mm for R2700 brand new. SO underrated that fork!

And with remote lockout! Seriously, it's an amazing fork for that money. It's not a revelation by any means, but you'll love it until you get your pike.

Anybody else had experience with the Suntour? Looks like a good deal as cheap fork till the end if the year. At the moment it's between the Suntour and a 2nd hand 100mm Reba / Sid.

Personally i would go with the reba or sid. Better resale value. Stanchions are also resistant to wear so they hold value well... besides that they are great forks...

Personally i love the dual air ( 5-10 psi more air in negative chamber)...i think the suntour forks are quite hefty but haven't compared weights so open to correction.

They're OK until you try to service them. You can't get replacement wipers, so essentially you're buying a disposable fork.

Your money will be far better spent on almost anything else.

Thanks for the advice guys. Got a good deal on a Fox Factory fork, 100mm travel, Kashima coating.

Should be OK until I have enough cash to get a Pike / X Fusion / MRP or similar.

Ride what you like. Doubt it's going to feel like riding a cheap DS. Maybe just not as soft as a 120mm.
