Had a 130mm revelation and swapped it for a 140mm Pike, Would never go back to less travel or a lesser fork!

Ride what you like. Doubt it's going to feel like riding a cheap DS. Maybe just not as soft as a 120mm.

no reason why a 120mm fork week be "softer" than a 100mm travel fork. The travel is there for larger impacts and you still want a supportive fork.

In the case of this frame I would re iterate what the others have said. 120mm travel and up.

I don't own a pyga but have tested one and would certainly not run anything less than a 120mm travel fork on it.

Ok now I'm curious. Can I adapt my 26" 100mm SID dual air fork to a 120mm? I know I should look it up. But I feel like some of you really enjoy answering tech based questions.

Nope, it's from a friend of mine. He seems to enjoy it

On another note: I just butchered my Pyga and move the parts to some other beast:

Thanks for the advice guys. Got a good deal on a Fox Factory fork, 100mm travel, Kashima coating.

Should be OK until I have enough cash to get a Pike / X Fusion / MRP or similar.

Isn't an adjustment or a conversion that can be done to make it 120 travel?

Maybe. As a general rule you can shorten forks, but not lengthen them, but there are a few exceptions. The only way to find out is to take it apart.

??... I bought my Reba as 100mm and it is internally adjustable to 140mm. I number of RS models are like this.

Like I said, there are a few exceptions. The all-travel Reba is one of them. There's a 120mm SID as well, but they're not all like that unfortunately...

While we are on this topic, :-)

The Reba manual states that the dual air forks with QR lowers should only go to 100mm and with TA to 120mm, is there a real risk running a 120mm fork on QR? or are they just trying to be ultra safe?

Your bull**** meter should be going moggy when reading that.

The newer manuals don't refer to the limitation, in one of the older manuals it still states:

"7. Reba 29” with 9mm quick release (not Maxle Lite): maximum travel setting = 100mm. Standard Reba 29” with Maxle Lite: maximum travel setting = 120mm"

I'm in the same boat have a 120 mm but looking for a 140mm for my 29er.

I got a 140 pike on my pyga and it is awesome.  would recommend going bigger rather than smaller, unless you are going to be doing XC only
