nel.michael@gmail.com Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Please can someone help me decide on the 56km and 38km ride? Where can I find the route profile for the race? Thx
Meezo Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 what's your fitness like? hours a week a day a month a year.... amount of climbing etc. all will help!
Jaco-fiets Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 The routes are relatively easy! Lots of stupid ups and downs through vineyard blocks to make up the mileage. I wont be doing it again.....

Meezo. My Strava profile http://www.strava.com/athletes/2427261 It's not about the km / hours. I normally want to see the route profile before I enter a race.

droenn Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Besides the Delheim and Muratie sections, is there much single track?
Lone_Ranger Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 traffic Traffic wasn't so bad last year, first year at the new venue. Previous years it was terrible.
Surv0MTB Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 first time im doing the 55km.. did the short route for Origins of trails which was tough, reckon I can do the 55km challenge. If anything itll warm up the legs for the following weekends roads race What is the elevation gain for the 55km? I read somewhere around 1300m or so.. cant see this on Strava?
nazmo Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I did the Porcupine Challenge 52km last week. From a fitness standpoint it was easy. I had some traffic issues on the first few climbs, people walking and wobbling, then when the short and long routes merged. Im a bit slower on the downhills due to lack of experience (was my first XC race). The very rocky downhill was scary, but I did it with cleating out once. What should I expect in comparison? Anyone do both?
Surv0MTB Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Last years route was not technical at all, mostly jeep track if I remember correctly.
dirtypot Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Apparently there's more single track this year than there was last year. We'll see...
