IMPEY for glory!

His chain snapped in the sprint finalè last year.

Good fortune for Louis then.

DARYL is looking in good form based on what I've seen at TDU.

Heard from a friend the 40+Vets race were move this week to 13:30 Sunday. Might be a tad hot, not to mention messing up a few travel arrangements

Ladies Elite moved to Saturday 1pm!!! That is just insane

Impey is in good shape... tour down under did well.

I think Louise said on twitter hes feeling a bit flat.

just hoping Louise gets it.

Most important result is that Impey is racing. He was put off last year due to the poor handling of his test results. Good to see him riding in SA.

Surely it is irresponsible to START a competitive race at 13:00 in this heat. It is not safe to do so.

Clearly you have never seen the act of lady riders pouring ice cold water over themselves ;)

No agree, that's a bit insane. Can't they rectify this?

Ag its the same for everyone in the category at the time, Johnie Koen is making big hoo-hah about hydration, there are plenty free water, icetea and chocshakes!!!!

And I even saw some beers trackside yesterday!

On a different note, I must say I was rather disappointed by the lack of doping control after the time trial. I was one of the Juniors that had a "surprise" result and I'm sure a lot my opponents who didn't know about me have a few raised eyebrows. I remember whilst racing African XCO champs, the first 3 guys were immediately taken to the doping control tent.

I am certain that everyone in my race is clean, but it never hurts to be sure - even if it is just to prove to everyone that the top 3/5 riders performed based on their training, not on PEDs.

Test us, we are racing in a UCI category after all. Hopefully things are different for the road race.
