Rave: Trail and tar and Stoke

So I put a new rear tire on my bike on Monday. Seated perfectly, almost too easily. But, grabbed my bike to ride this evening only to find a flat rear tire. Tried to sear it with a pump. Fail. Meet my buddies at the tokai garage with the intention of seating it at the garage. Fail. So I decide to put in a tube. Fail. The tube unseated the tire and exploded.

At this point my mate reckons ask the guys at trail and tar to help. Clint the mechanic tries to seat the tire only to find that the bead of the tire is flawed and it will never seat.

So what does he do, he insists I borrow his tire off his personal bike. Way beyond anyone's definition of excellent service. I then realise that his 2.4 ibex probably won't fit and convince him that I don't really need to ride.

Thanks Clint, you tried!

On my way home I drove past stoke and saw that they were open. I'd bought the tire there om Monday. I popped in with the intention of exchanging the tire for a new one. Andrew exchanged the tire and proceeded to seat it for me, not an easy task.

Thanks, Andrew!

Much respect and many thanks to these guys who have the best interests of cyclists at heart.

I'm concerned about the tyre, there are just too many stories all ending the same lately. Flawed bead. Schwalbe by any chance?

Andrew, Clint.. awesome!

I have a conti race king with the same issue. When it does seat the tyre sits skew. Bead is flawed.
