Exactly, we have an obligation to keep this thread at the top of the list.

What if the offending cyclist works like normal people and doesn't have access to the hub during office hours. He gets home tonight, scans the hub to see if there is a thread about this, and because we stop chatting it is now on page two, he doesn't see it and doesn't come forward....

Ok.....this car was parked in Simons Town in front of the owners home. The dude on the bike hit the PARKED car around 6.30 this morning. The cyclist was offered help by someone who saw it go down and when the witness went to ask him if he needs help, he refused medical help. The bystander then went to his car (not the one damaged) to get his phone....when the dude on the bike fled the scene.....on his bike. The bystander was able to give a description of the cyclist, to the owner of the car. She then went to find CCTV footage of someone fitting that description, around that time of the morning.....this is him. He left Simons town on his bike and appeared to be fine. He cycled alone. She is aware that he has 24hours in which to rapport it...and respectfully requested for him to come clean and to own up. I am her best friend and it is pretty crappy that a fellow cyclist won't just own up. As someone else said.... We,the cyclists, also have a responsibility..... His behavior could lead to someone who has less time for cyclists.....and a pissed off motorist with a grudge against cyclists....could hit me!!! I would rat you out even if you are my friend....but you are not so I am asking for someone who knows this dude...to ask him to come forward. Simons town is my route and I do not want any pissed off drivers there.

Hmm, going to be hard to prove it was the guy in the photo if the photos were taken of someone that "looked like" the guy in the accident from another venue completely.

Unless you have proof from an eye witness once the person/suspect in the photos is apprehended.

If he isn't a hubber, I demand he creates an account and comes on here to give his story.

That's like being invited as the guest of honour to a public stoning...

problem is that the poor owner would have to pay to activate the claim ...... not fair if you just come back and find your car damaged, but the same would apply should a car have hit that car.

sucks when you have done nothing wrong in an accident and you have to pay out of your pocket.

But that is why you have insurance. If he comes forward cool the excess is covered if not, just pat of life. same thing happens with parking lot dings.

I now have 2 on my car, bitch part is the insurance want two claims so I will have to wait till I write the car off or something similar.

Just wondering how you dont see the parked car? Is it downhill or something and he couldn't stop?

I think it's actually uphill, and i'm guessing he was texting/changing tracks/checking out his phone

either way, this oke could get a pro cycling contract out of this deal - last time i checked only Jens Voigt could wreck a car like that and still ride home. He's now retired.

Not to mention the bike, Would have thought the front wheel or fork or both would have been damaged. Someone a few pages ago mentioned it was possibly an old raliegh RC?000.

More like being pushed off a building ISIS style and then when you survive the fall being stoned to death....

Whats the story?

I think he better phones Matt, tell his story to Matt and let Matt explain to us that it was not the cyclist's fault. Only then I will believe him
