I sent my Reba Duel Air in for service and new stanchions at a cost of

R3800.00 ( quoted and accepted)When the fork came back it was converted to solo air. On enquiry I was told that the spares for Duel air are no longer available. Can anyone confirm this. Also I would have thought that the Sram service department should have told me this at the quoting stage.

Better off or not, they changed the fundamental structure of your fork without telling you. Had you known this would happen, you may have considered other options. My last car service didn't even cost R3 800. They had the courtesy to phone me beforehand to ask me if I wanted certain things done which fell out of a normal service.

I received my service kit for a dual air revelation 2 weeks ago (u-turn). On the packet it says 11.4015.263.000    REBA/REVEL/PIKE AIR U-TURN SERVICE KIT

Be happy ,the solo air fork uses one chamber to regulate both the positive and negative chambers .

It was called DUEL(constant fight between + and -) air by some because the end user just couldn't get the pressures right needed for the two dual chambers, so often the negative would increase and suck the fork down or the positive would be pumped with too much air making the fork very hard .

Go and kiss the shop that did this for you .

It took a while to get to know the fork - but now it's pretty awesome.  The suck down is about 5mm - but no air moving between the chambers.

Just out of interest - what would the cost be to convert a 150mm revelation u-turn dual air to a solo air (no need for the u-turn)

Really not sure i agree with this, its actually a simple setup, I know my +ve needs to be @95, then i move to the negative and depending on where i ride i pump it to 90 and then watch the "suck", as soon as it starts pulling the stanchion in I stop, give it a few compressions and check that it comes back to where i want it.

Having the -ve slightly higher than the +ve makes for a nice smooth ride on long outrides, while on really rocky / technical rides i might leave them equal or slightly bias to the +ve side.

And then they travel with the pressures set up like that, ride with reduced travel and blame the fork for the problem.

The other thing people also tend to forget, the accuracy of said shock pumps as well as the amount of pressure escape removing the hose from the valve.

This was the best move Rock Shock ever made.
